Rob Minton call me a BIG JOKE…

Program review by Merle Braley, Internet Marketing Advisor

Rob Minton of Rent2OWNlistings.com threatened to ruin my reputation because of a critical review of his Income for Life Program / Renegade Millionaire Strategies for Real Estate Agents

Rob Minton phoned me one day because I had written an unfavorable review of his Income for Life program. He threatened that if I didn’t remove the review that he would ruin my reputation and that he had a lot of friends that would help him do just that. I think he’s been watching too many tough guy movies. I asked Rob Minton several times if there was anything in the review that was not true but he ignored my question and just kept threatening to ruin my reputation. He also complained that I had given Greg Luther a better review than I gave him. (Note: I don’t give anything - people earn what they get.) Then Minton said Greg Luther stole his course material, and I shouldn’t trust Greg Luther because he’s a liar. He said that he was suing Luther for taking his material.Regarding the review, I told Rob that I wouldn’t make any promises, but that I would reconsider what I wrote about Minton’s program. So, we ended the call with the agreement that I immediately remove Minton’s review from my website and that Minton would give me the contact info of some of his students so I could interview them and possibly update the review. He asked me to call him later to get the names and phone numbers. He has not returned my calls.Even though I had removed the review from my site, I discovered that he had published a web-page entitled “Merle Braley is a BIG JOKE…” I’ve include a link to that page as well as my commentary below. But, first, I want you to see the review that started this whole thing off.

The Original Review of Rob Minton’s Program:

“Famous TV Star Discovers…” Rob Minton’s eBook

Oh sure! And what does TV Star Dick Van Patten know about real estate? Why is he the spokesperson for Rob Minton’s free eBook Renegade Millionaire Strategies for Real Estate Agents?

OK, so Rob Minton spent a bundle on personal coaching from one of the top direct marketers in the world Dan Kennedy to be told to use a star to promote his product. In case you don’t know, Dan Kennedy is the author of a stack of books known as the NO BS series.

I’ve read every one of Kennedy’s NO BS books. They are great. I’ve even gotten so I can tell if a book’s author was coached by Dan Kennedy by the phraseology of the title and table of contents. Anyway, Dan Kennedy knows what he’s doing. What bothers me is that this dumb ad probably works! Shame on the human race. You see, Dan Kennedy never over-estimates the intelligence of people. And therefore, he has a much better chance of hitting a home run with his ads. He would instinctively know this ad would reel in the interest of the readers of REALTOR Magazine where I found this ad. He doesn’t over estimate the intelligence of real estate agents either! I’m a real estate agent, and you wouldn’t believe how many air-heads are in the business - - But, I digress.

Let’s get back to the Star spokesperson that Rob Minton choose to represent him in the REALTOR Magazine.

You decide. Do you want the man who played Dad in “Eight is Enough” to be recommending food for your cat or giving you real estate career advice? OK, enough said. Back to the review…

Income for Life Membership

I’m going to check with my sources to make sure I have all the details right. Somewhere in my office I have some of Rob Minton’s material describing his Renegade Millionaire Strategies and his Income For Life When I find that stuff I’ll update this.

For now, here’s what I recall. Rob was a successful real estate agent. He trained under Craig Proctor. Then Rob decided to create a business of finding single-family homes and matching rent-to-own tenants with the properties and have investors buy the properties and keep them until the tenant-buyers cash them out. I think Rob calls it “Houses buying houses” because the cash flow from the houses would be used to purchase more houses.

When I looked into this a while back, I figured the cost to get in would be expensive but worth it. But, when I saw how much it was I nixed the idea and misfiled the folder. Who knows I may have put it where it belongs - - in the circular file!

Was it $50,000 just to kiss his shoe? Maybe not. But, that’s what it seemed like when I saw the plan. I don’t remember exactly. If I find the folder I’ll update this review. One of the arguments as I recall was that you’d get a protected territory and the territories are going fast, so you better empty your savings account quickly and transfer the contents to Rob’s account before you loose out! Hmmm… I guess Rob didn’t count on Greg Luther moving into these territories.

Interestingly Greg Luther has created what looks to be in direct competition with Minton’s opportunity. There may be a story behind the story. [Greg, if you are reading this, please don’t copy Rob’s on picking out a star spokesperson. Get someone who has some real estate credentials. Maybe a star from HGTV.]

RECOMMENDATION: Charles W. Moore wrote an inexpensive eBook called Million Dollar Rent-To-Own Real Estate Secrets Exposed and throws in a pile of other bonuses. If you can’t afford Rob’s or Greg’s plan, and most can’t, then Charles’ eBook is well within reach. If you can’t afford Charles’ eBook, then you better get out of real estate now because there’s still some rough times ahead for real estate agents.

[Dick Van Patten, if you are reading this, please drop the vegetarian cat food from your Natural Balance Pet Food offerings. Cats are carnivores! I’m a vegetarian, but I feed my cats the meat and fish Natural Balance brand cat food. Hey, did you recently change the formula for the Chicken and Liver Pate Formula? It smells different and the cats don’t like it.]

Did anything good result from the review above? You decide…

Remember the above was the review that prompted Rob Minton to threaten to ruin my reputation. He should be thanking me! I think the review may have actually been good for Rob Minton. Check this out… The very next issue of REALTOR Magazine that came out did not have the pet food star spokes person on Minton’s advertisement. We may never know who decided to end that relationship. Was it Rob Minton who was embarrassed or Dick Van Patten? Anyway, you guys are much better off ending that relationship.

Let’s get to the reason you’re reading this review…

Rob Minton slanders me

The following review is from Rob Minton’s website: http://www.quitworksomeday.com/braley.aspx
Rob also registered the domain merlebraleyrevealed.com which he has url forwarding pointing to a sub-directory in his QuitWorkSomeday website.

Merle Braley’s Response

Merle Braley is a BIG Joke…
Is Rob Minton right?…
While surfing the internet, I stumbled across Merle Braley’s Moonlight Reviews website. In this website he supposedly is giving honest reviews of books, programs and training materials. Notice that Rob Milton didn’t mention that there had been a critical review on MoonlightReviews.com about his Income For Life program that was no longer posted. He didn’t mention that we had an agreement that I reconsider what I wrote about his program after I interview some of his students. He didn’t mention that he called me and threatened that he and his friends would ruin my reputation. He didn’t mention that we had agreed that I interview some of his students. He didn’t mention that when I called him to followup to get contact info of students that he didn’t return my calls.
Don’t listen to his advice because he isn’t what he presents himself to be. I’ll prove it to you. Read on.
Merle’s special Moonlight Review website is really a sales pitch to get you to buy a product he earns money from. Most marketers are up front. You know they are trying to sell you something. Not Merle. He cons you into his review website, shoots down other products and then recommend the ONE and ONLY solution to make money. He gets paid everytime you order the ONE and ONLY solution. This is the scam of all scams if you ask me. Go to his website and you can see what I mean. It’s at: http://moonlightreviews.com/ Notice how he promotes his other website as the best solution? In the process of reviewing various work at home business opportunities, I try a lot of programs. Some opportunities are winners, some are losers. Some are so obviously bad, I wouldn’t consider shelling out the money for them. When I find something that’s really good I will implement it myself as a means of income. I’d be a fool, and a poor fool if I didn’t. Rob doesn’t seem to have any idea what a scam is. Everyone who’s purchased the $19.97 eBook Millions at Your Kitchen Table knows that I am selling it and making money. And, the great thing about it is that it comes with resell rights so they can sell it for the same price and recoup their investment with the first sale! They keep 100% of the money. They don’t have to give me or any ‘Internet Marketing Prophet’ any of the money. This is not a scam.

I make no apology for making an income with Internet marketing. But, I do it in such a way that my customers can also make an income in Internet marketing. Here’s the $19.97 eBook Rob Minton refers to. It includes resell rights, so if you want to resell the eBook, you can keep 100% of the sale! And, I’ll include several other eBooks FREE. In a different website Merle uses at: http://internetmarketingprophet.com/ he calls himself an Internet Marketing Advisor. The website is called “Internet Marketing Prophet.” Merle is apparently an internet marketing prophet. Wow! Don’t I wish. No, I’m not the Internet Marketing Prophet, although I aspire to be one. The name refers to the author of the book Millions at Your Kitchen Table which is sold on that site.
Hold this thought. I’ll come back to it. You’re going to laugh, I promise! I’m already laughing.
In digging further, I find that Merle is a real estate agent in Boston. I guess being an Internet Marketing Prophet isn’t very time consuming these days. How does he do it all? Review products, sell homes and handle his Prophet responsibilities? It’s no secret, I’m not a traditional real estate agent. I tried it and it didn’t work. Ask anyone. I don’t look like one, I don’t think like one, I don’t act like one. I’ve been told that sooo many times it’s laughable! The fact is I’m more interested in and better at Internet lead generation than running around selling houses. That’s me. I’m working with a few select clients - mostly buyers - and I like it that way. I only work with people who respect me and my time. I’m also doing Internet marketing consulting for real estate agents across the country. As for the leads that come from my real estate websites, I refer most of those out.
At his real estate website, he includes a page titled “What Clients Say.” I think this page is supposed to include comments from his real estate clients saying how good he is as an agent. I would expect to see 5 to 10 comments about his service as an agent, his experience in the market, his negotiating skills, and more. Nope… This page only has one comment. The comment does not say anything about how good Merle is as an agent. It simply says that his real estate website is very helpful for buyers. You can see it yourself here: http://merlebraleyre.com/gold_testimonials.asp This makes sense because, after all, Merle is the Internet Marketing Prophet. Good catch Rob. That’s not even my client’s testimony! That’s a sample testimonial that Consulnet has in their websites!!! Argh. Thank you. I’ll remove it. Certainly you realized that when you wrote this because I know that you were one of the early users of ConculNet. In doing a search on the Internet I found several others with the exact same testimonial. I think that’s a problem that should be addressed by Consulnet. Rob Minton is still quoted in some of Consulnet’s marketing material. But, I’ll overlook that because again Rob you called me the Internet Marketing Prophet. I’m getting so I like it. Thanks you.
Well, as it turns out, Merle leases his real estate website from a company called Consultnet. So do hundreds of other real estate agents. He didn’t even create it. He rented it. You can see for yourself. Go to http://www.consulnet.com/ Click on the real estate websites and you can rent the exact same website that the Internet Marketing Prophet bought! Lucky you! I would never recommend that anyone build their own real estate agent website. It would take many developer months to recreate the feature set in that website. It’s laughable to think I should have created my own website to run my real estate business. You can read my review on ConsulNet’s website here.
Isn’t that funny. It’s a riot.
Wouldn’t you think that the ‘Internet Marketing Prophet’ would have created his own website? Nope. Internet Marketing is not the same skill as software development. So, no I would not think that the ‘Internet Marketing Prophet’ would have created his own website.I do far more software development than most Internet marketers. But, that’s a distraction, not a requirement. And certainly there are many notable and highly successful Internet marketers who don’t know how to program.
As it turns out, Merle Braley isn’t an Internet Marketing Prophet. Merle Braley doesn’t appear to even be qualified to be an Internet Marketing Advisor. He didn’t even create his own website. He is definitely not an expert in anything. I never said I’m the Internet Marketing Prophet. Read above.
Oh - one more thing… It doesn’t even look like he sells a lot of homes as a real estate agent. He only has one listing featured on his website. Go figure… Read above.
Merle Braley’s Moonlight Review website isn’t what he presents it to be. Becareful listening to this Prophet! Read above.

  2. What have YOU done? I’d like to review it. Why don’t you make a name for yourself, rather than trying to tear down someone else’s? Rob Minton’s stuff DOES work.

  3. I am an investor with Greg Luther and Residential Investor Network. The system has created over $54,000 in profit for me and has been completely hands off as his Area Realty Advisor handles everything for me. I don’t know much about Rob Milton or his system as you have described but I am extremely happy with Greg Luther’s program and i have referred 2 co-workers and my boss to Greg to see exactly the same success.

  4. Rob Minton only tells people what they want to hear. I live around Cleveland and know some people that have been a part of the “Income For Life”. Their “franchise” is doing terrible. I have heard that they have lost as much as 50% of their sales this year. So much…for a proven concept. Rob seems like a person who is only out for himself. He wants to create his own herd of people that pay him. It is amazing that people actually bought his a franchise. His concepts are not rocket science…just go to your local library. Rob made his millions…on people that wanted to make a easy buck.

  5. Rob Minton is obsessed with being wealthy…just check out some of his postings on the his blog. His main focus is to be a multimillionaire. His program…Income For Life…seemed like a great idea when the housing and banking industry were doing great…but now..Investors can’t buy homes…they can’t refinance homes and they can’t sell the homes that they have… The days of his program actually working are gone…
