Hurom vs Kuvings - Cover Image

It’s no secret that natural juice usually has more nutrients than something processed you’ve bought from the store, but it can be difficult finding the right item to get the job done just how you like it. If you’re on the go in the mornings, you need something that’s quick but effective. That’s where juicers take center stage.

If you’re a juicing guru, you’re probably familiar with two top contenders: the Hurom and Kuvings juicers. Versatile enough to provide single-serve and larger quantities, these two have different models that have become household names.

Hurom vs Kuvings Comparison

There are so many different models of each brand, so it may be difficult to choose. While both have components that are similar, they also have major differences.

As two of the most popular brands known in the juicing industry, when it comes to price, Kuvings takes the lead and has a 10-year warranty standing behind it. Additionally, Kuvings has three cutting discs to support their single-gear machines and is lauded for being super quiet.

On the flip side, the Hurom Slow Juicers also offers a 10-year warranty and a five-year bonus offer for additional Hurom products. It is also known to be easier to clean, lighter, and is also very quiet.

When determining which one is the best option, it’s important to know what you need and the amount of money you’re willing to invest.

What Is Juicing?

Juicing is when you extract the juice from fresh vegetables and fruits, and this is normally done for detoxing or to more directly access valuable nutrients found in fruits and vegetables. The juice that results from the process usually has all the antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins found in the whole fruit or vegetable, providing great sources of Potassium, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Calcium, Iron, and Folate to name a few.

When detoxing, most people only drink juice for a certain period, but some people just like the taste of fresh juice daily to get them going. With juicing, you may also get additional support for the cardiovascular system due to additional nitric oxide in the blood which can keep blood pressure low.

Why Compare Kuvings vs Hurom?

Kuvings is based in Korea and has been on the market with their juicers since 1978. They are known for the 3” wide cutting-edge wide auto-feed chute. The company became popular with the introduction of the Whole Slow Juicer. No stranger to this industry they were one of the pioneers when creating slow juicer models and have continuously updated their features and designs to accommodate growing demand

Hurom was originally known for kitchen appliances, entering the slow juicer market in 2003. They have Ultra-Quiet Slow Juicers and standard Slow Juicers. In fact, they used their patented technology to come up with the first slow-juicer that provided a better-tasting product.

Hurom Review

Hurom expects nothing but the best from their products, and they operate in a manner that ensures their customers recognize this difference. They even make their juicers from materials commonly found on spaceships, such as Ultem, Tritan, and stainless steel. While there might be cheaper juicers available, there are no better-built juicers available on the market. Whether you prefer vertical juicers or horizontal juicers, Hurom is the best place to start.

And if you have any concerns about investing in a juicer like a Hurom, know this: Hurom juicers include an AC motor specifically designed to be durable and long-lasting, so it comes with a 10-year warranty, which competitor juicers can’t offer. This powerful motor will keep on juicing.

Why Are Slow Juicers Better?

Slow juicing is less harsh on the cellular structure of fruit than any process involving a blender. The result is a very healthy, unprocessed juice, that lasts as long as 72 hours when properly refrigerated. Slow juicing technology relies on an auger to squeeze the juice in a manner that is very similar to how you might hand-squeeze citrus fruits.

Rather than shredding the fruit and vegetable fibers to pieces, as happens blenders and juicers that rely on high-speed blades, slow juicers gently protect the nutrients that you deserve. Slow juicers protect both the natural colors and cellular structure of your fruit, which provides the most natural and nutritious juice possible. For this reason, many people think cold press juice is better.

High-quality slow juicers are still versatile enough for fruits and vegetables, including leafy greens, as well as nuts, seeds, herbs, and other spices. Slow juicers may not be as aggressively violent as high-speed blade juicers and blenders, but that doesn’t mean they are any less productive.

Centrifugal juicers aren’t bad, but they are different from cold press juicers. In squeezing the produce rather than shredding it, cold press juicers protect nutrients, but centrifugal juicers usually have more fiber. There are pros and cons to consider for the various types of juicers, but adding supplemental and natural nutrients to your diet is generally part of a healthy lifestyle.

HP Slow Juicer

While Hurom and Kuvings both have juicers that cost thousands of dollars, that’s a little much for what most people need. The Hurom HP Slow Juicer is compact in size and features sweeping curves and a sleek design. While this juicer is one the most affordable slow juicers you will find, it is still durable, as it is made from a durable and impact-resistant ABS plastic body.

The compact size shouldn’t be discounted, as the HP Slow Juicer still packs a punch.

The HP Juicer has three color options and is the most inexpensive juicer that Hurom offers. The spin speed is 43 RPM and is made with Ultem plastics which are very heavy and durable. This juicer can be used for about 20 minutes at a time before resting for 5 minutes. It holds 11.8 fluid ounces and measures 7.6 inches x 6.9 inches x 15.5 inches. Parts are covered for two years, and the motor is covered for 10.

H-AA Slow Juicer

Not only is the Hurom H-AA the next step up from the Hurom HP Slow Juicer, but Hurom also considers the Hurom H-AA Slow Juicer to be the brand’s flagship model. You might expect the flagship model to feature the most advanced technology on the market, and the Hurom H-AA delivers with Alpha technology which not only optimizes juicing but also is capable of making ice cream.

Yep, you read that right. We know many of you are focused on squeezing your leafy greens into the juice container, or maybe in making your own baby food if you are extra creative, but you deserve life’s simple pleasures from time to time. Why not mix a little juice from delicious soft fruits into your ice cream?

Peachy ice cream, anybody?

There are three strainers that also include a tofu press and mold, and nut milk can be created with this juicer. The juicer can run continuously for over 30 minutes and holds 17 fluid ounces of juice. A reverse function is included and there are different color options. The Hurom H-AA is more expensive than the entry-level HP Slow Juicer, but still, is much more affordable than the advanced Hurom options. The dimensions are 8.8 inches x 7.8 inches x 16 inches.

HZ Slow Juicer

While the Hurom HP Slow Juicer and H-AA Slow Juicer are great products, they are also a little, well, plasticky. There is nothing wrong with this, but the stainless steel casing wrapping the HZ Slow Juicer is definitely eye-catching and handsome. Not only is the stainless steel durable and handsome, but it is also known to have some anti-bacterial benefits, so there are tangible reasons to consider this upgrade.

Now, if there is one thing that is a constant in juice pressing, it’s that no one can agree on the correct amount of pulp. The Hurom HZ Slow Juicer offers taste and pulp control in the form of a fine strainer and coarse strainer. This gives more precise control over how much dry pulp falls to the pulp containers and how much pulp from your leafy vegetables and delicious fruits slides into your juice.

Of course, the big takeaway is that the Hurom HZ Slow Juicer squeezes out the most unprocessed juice possible, as close as to the original fruit as possible. And, oh yes. The HZ Slow Juicer makes silky smooth ice cream, also.

This is a mid-level slow juicer in the brand, with a spin speed of 43 RPM and a stainless-steel body. There are also LED indicators, a built-in carry handle, and three strainers, a tofu press, and a citrus juicer. The juicer has a 2” wide chute, and a recipe book is also included. Very quiet and efficient, it runs for 30 continuous minutes. This comes in at around $600, weighs 12 pounds, and is sized at 8.1 inches x 9.3 inches x 16 inches.

H101 Easy Clean Slow Juicer

Before we bury the punch line, the big takeaway is that the Hurom H101 is specifically designed to be more easily cleaned. Hurom takes pride in making the best juicers money can buy, and over the years they have done their best to incorporate feedback from customers into design upgrades. One of the most common pieces of feedback was that Hurom makes a quality juicer, but they aren’t always that easy to clean.

Well, now you don’t have to worry about annoying scrubbing. Hurom replaced the hole strainers with grooved strainers. Now you can simply take apart the pieces and rinse underwater. The biggest difference here is that the elongated grooves are just easier to clean, making the Hurom H101 worthy of your consideration.

This is their easy-clean juicer outfitted with two grooved strainers for juicing and smoothies. Like the other juicers from this brand, it operates at 43 RPM, weighs 18 pounds, and has a 2” chute. It holds 17 ounces of juice and has a reverse function. It can run continuously for 30 minutes without interruption and is affordable, sitting in a mid-level price range.

H200 Easy Clean Slow Juicer

The Hurom H200 is one of our favorite juicers, and it represents the best of the best. While there are many expensive juicers, not every expensive juicer is worth the money, but this one is. The Hurom H200 slow juicer combines the Easy Clean chamber with a self-feeding hopper, making this one of the most convenient juicers on the market. The ergonomic designs help show how the parts should fit together.

The new hoppers are big enough to fit whole-sized apples, which means you will have to do substantially less work on the front-end. In fact, the H200 hopper is 3X larger than the average hopper on a masticating juicer.

The Hurom H200 operates at an auger speed of 50 RPM, weighs approximately 14 lbs, has a 2” chute, holds about 17 ounces of juice, and can operate continuously for as much as 30 minutes to ensure you reach maximum juice yields.

Always keep in mind that large seeds, such as the pit found in peaches, should be removed before you try to juice the fruit.

Kuvings Review

While deciding between Kuvings vs Hurom is often quite the challenge, both companies make amazing juicers. One consideration worth noting is that Kuvings also makes commercial-grade juicers that cost well over $1,000, and the brand packs much of that commercial-grade knowledge into their home-use juicers. Of course, when Black Friday and other major sales holidays roll around, Kuvings usually discounts the industrial juicers, too, so you might decide that the best of the best is fit for your personal kitchen.

Kuvings vs Hurom - Explore

Vertical vs Horizontal Juicer

Vertical and horizontal juicers are different types of juicers, but Kuvings offers both. Centrifugal juicers are common because they are affordable, high-speed juicers. Masticating juicers provide a higher quality juice that protects the cellular structure of the juice and the nutrients, but masticating juicers generally operate more slowly than centrifugal juicers. A masticating juicer is a different style of juicer than what you might see with a traditional blender, but vertical masticating juicers are popular because of their fast speed, in comparison to horizontal masticating juicers.

Still, there are more nuanced differences than speed. Both types of cold press juicers provide higher quality juice, with less waste, but they aren’t exactly the same. Horizontal juicers are easier to assemble and work well with leafy greens and root vegetables, but take up a larger footprint and are a little slower. Vertical juicers have more parts that complicate assembly, but vertical juicers take up a much smaller footprint and operate much faster. Also, you will more likely need to use a food pusher with a horizontal juicer. Most vertical juicers have self-feeding options so that using a pusher isn’t necessary, but be sure to review manufacturer instructions regardless of whether you purchase a verticle unit or a horizontal unit

EVO820 Series

The Kuvings Evo820 popularity starts with the wide feeding chute, which makes it fundamentally easier to use this juicer. The wide feeding chute not only cuts prep time significantly, since you don’t have to cut your fruits and veggies down into minuscule pieces, but it also allows for a less cumbersome experience.

Beyond the ease of use, the Kuvings Evo820 also has 3-in-1 capabilities. First and foremost, the Kuvings Evo820 is a powerful juicer, but it also includes a smoothie strainer (perfect for delicious, fresh, and well yes, smooth smoothies), and a blank strainer, which can be used to make velvety sorbets.

This unit is perfect for a healthy lifestyle and works well with a variety of fruits and nuts, and many types of produce. It’s an excellent juicer that has powerful force at low speeds, meaning even root vegetables are no match. And the low masticating speeds eliminate heat damage and oxidation that often occurs with juicers, which results in nutrient preservation.

This 3.2” feeding chute is larger than the standard and is available in four premium colors. One of the unique features of this juicer is that it is versatile enough to be used as a citrus press. The drum has been redesigned for stability, with a juicing chamber that can mix juices. Very quiet, the juice can be stored for a period of up to 3 days. This is fairly easy to clean but not dishwasher safe with BPA-free components. This model is available at the highest price point of the household use juicers, though it is significantly more affordable than the commercial-grade juicers.

C7000 Series

Much of the core technology available in the EVO820 is also available in the Kuvings C7000 model, though at a high level, the C7000 isn’t quite as refined or versatile. Still, there are enough small design considerations to demonstrate Kuvings heritage and expertise in the juicer space.

For instance, the removable hopper makes it much easier to add smaller fruits, such as grapes. And if the texture isn’t your thing, the pulp strainer sits perfectly over the juice cup, allowing you to easily control the juice texture.

Of course, the most advanced and efficient juicer model may still be a pain if it is difficult to clean up. Fortunately, the Kuvings C7000 includes a specially designed cleaning tool and other accessory brushes to help streamline any cleaning time.

This model is outfitted with a 3” feed chute, is very quiet, and has easy-to-clean tools. Since this is a vertical model, it may have issues with certain items. This has a great scarper, metallic smart cap and is key for juice extraction. This is lauded as one of the best on the market. Metal gears help with longevity, and it has a 240W motor. The auger design is patented by Kuvings and it comes with a 10-year warranty, which is standard practice for this brand. The Kuvings C7000 is the brand’s mid-priced unit, and the features align with that mid-price point as well.

B6000 Series

The Kuvings B6000 is the entry-level cold press juicer from the Kuvings brand, and while it may not boast every extra feature that the Kuvings EVO820 features, it will still get the job done in an impressive fashion. The wide mouth chute is large enough for even a whole apple, and Kuvings estimates that the ability to put in whole fruits or minimally prepared ingredients saves up to 40% on prep time. Considering that Kuvings also saves money on the back end through easy disassembly and specialty cleaning tools, Kuvings makes juicing as easy as possible.

And while the Kuvings B6000 will help you drink your way to a healthier lifestyle, it is still nice to indulge in fruity frozen desserts from time to time, too, and the B6000 has you covered there as well. Delicious sorbets and fruit-based ice creams will be your go-to favorite.

The chute is 3” wide but makes great green juice and celery. There is an auto-cleaning system with a 60 RPM motor. It has BPA-free parts with other areas made with Ultem which is highly durable. There is a juice tap attached for mixing juices with external pulp ejection. Juice extracted has a 72-hour shelf life. One of the advantages of this model is the dual safety system which automatically shuts off the juicer overheats. This is the most affordable at-home model.

SC Series

The Kuvings SC Series falls into more classic styling and functionality than the Kuvings juicers noted above. Namely, The SC Series is more traditional and doesn’t feature the wide mouth as Kuvings other juicers. Still, the detachable smart cap is innovative and makes mixed juices a breeze. Known as the ‘Silent Juicer’, the Kuvings SC Series is also much quieter than old-school centrifugal juicers.

This is a second-gen juicer with a compact design. Priced at around $400, there are four different color options to choose from. This model has a no-drip Smart Cap and is recognized as one of the best mini-juicers on the market. Using a spin speed of 80 RPM, this juicer weighs 15 pounds. The vertical design is compact and super silent with a self-cleaning system. Users will be able to process a variety of produce. This is not dishwasher safe but does have an external pulp ejection feature. Sizing is 6.5 inches x 9.6 inches x 17.12 inches.

Commercial Juicers - Master Chef CS700

While Hurom and Kuvings both feature high-rated cold press juicers for home use, if you are a very serious juicer, or if you happen to own a business, it might make sense to go with one of the Kuvings commercial slow juicers. The Whole Slow Juicer Master Chef CS700 (premium), CS700X (most affordable), and CS600 (mid-range) are as good as they come.

The Kuvings CS700 features a staggering 3.5-inch, extra-wide feeding chute, which allows for whole fruits larger than even Kuvings household wide-mouth models. And of course, with those larger fruits and vegetables, and with the more frequent use you might expect for a commercial-grade juicer, you would expect the CS700 to feature a more powerful motor. It does. The Kuvings CS700 features a very powerful 200W motor, that is durable and ready for heavy-duty usage.

This beautiful juicer has a stainless steel juicing bowl and base and includes two top-sets for easy transitions before cleaning.

Same as the technology in Kuvings residential juicers, the CS700 maintains as much flavor, texture, and natural nutrient composition as possible. Flavorful juice that is nutrient-packed is a win-win for you and your potential customers.

Best Homemade Juice: Kuvings or Hurom?

Both juicers work well and get the job done. Comparing the two, the Kuvings juicers cost more but have more powerful motors. If you are someone who needs to be able to throw fruit and produce into the juicer and go, the Kuvings is the better choice. If affordability is the main consideration, the Hurom brand may be the best choice.

Hurom or Kuvings Alternatives

Hurom and Kuvings own the juicer market for good reason. They both have more than 40 years of innovation squeezed into every glass of juice, and that is their main focus as companies. They don’t make coffee makers and toasters. They’ve perfected the cold press juicer. While your main consideration should be comparing Hurom vs Kuvings, you may have also heard about competitor brands such as the Breville Juice Fountain Elite or the Omega Juicer.

And while we think Hurom and Kuvings both have models available at an affordable price, we understand that your primary concern is healthy juice, and not necessarily brand loyalty. Hurom and Kuvings are both quality Korean brands, but there are other options.

As far as alternatives to Kuvings or Hurom, the Breville Juice Fountain Elite is the juicer that we recommend that you start with. The Breville Juice Fountain Elite is a little more affordable, yet boasts a 1,000-watt motor and more than 40,000 filtering pores. It is a great value, and while we appreciate Hurom and Kuvings’s dedication to the juicer, the flip side of the coin is that Breville brings loads of expertise from all of their other appliances and applies that knowledge to the Juice Fountain Elite.

If you are on an exceedingly tight budget, you might consider the Omega Juicer, but the Hurom, Kuvings, and Breville all feature a more refined and durable build.

Is A Hurom Juicer Worth It?

A Hurom elite slow juicer might be a game-changer, and that is the bottom line. Regardless of whether you are looking to juice leafy greens, grasses, nuts, fruits, or other vegetables, Hurom’s slow juicer technology will protect the nutrients during the juice extraction process. The result is delicious juice that will contribute mightily toward your healthy lifestyle.

Hurom has invested 40 years in developing the absolute best juicer possible. They could have easily ventured into random other appliances, but instead, they designed a near-perfect slow squeeze juicer. The compact juicers fit nicely under top cabinets on the countertop, yet are easy enough to move when needed. We recommend you buy a

Hurom now so that you have lots of juice flowing freely from the juice spout sooner than later.

Is a Kuvings Juicer Worth It?

There is a reason that Kuvings has best-selling cold press juicers. From wheatgrass to almond milk, and from smoothies to sorbet, Kuvings juicers are highly versatile and very functional. The slow-rotating masticating technology protects nutrients and produces better-tasting juice.

Don’t take our word for it. Kuvings has won more design awards than you can shake a stick at, including, Red Design Awards, Spark Design Awards, and iF Design Awards. Kuvings has over 1,400 patents registered in more than 80 countries. Every drop of juice drips with innovation, and when you are ready for a frozen fruit sorbet, Kuvings has you covered there as well.

Kuvings vs Hurom

The Best Cold-Pressed Juice

The reality is that you can’t go wrong with either Hurom or Kuvings. They both make fine-tuned machines, based on decades of research and experience focused on developing a premium cold press juicer. In comparing Kuvings vs Hurom, your decision might come down to price point and preference.

Our take is that Hurom has more options at the most affordable price point, but that Kuvings sells the more refined and developed juicer. Of course, the technology and build are very comparable, so even that judgment is based on judgment. Still, Kuvings builds commercial juicers, and you can tell that commercial pedigree influences their household juicers.

We also appreciate the wide-mount feeding chutes on most of Kuvings appliances. The ability to fit whole produce, such as a whole apple, into the feeding chute significantly increases the ease of use by eliminating up to 40% of prep time.

Based on these considerations, we recommend you start with Kuvings.
