It's a good question, but one that is admittedly subjective. Still, we think Vuori is well worth your money. But where does Vuori fit into your wardrobe? This hits the nail on the head in many ways, but even "premium performance apparel" leaves room for interpretation, so here's how we would describe Vuori. Vuori makes clothing that is of noticeably higher quality than other clothes in your wardrobe, similar to what you might expect from a brand like Lulelemon.

As a brand, Vuori differentiates itself by creating exceedingly comfortable performance clothing and by featuring understated west coast designs.

Vuori clothing is designed for the consumer that appreciates premium performance but doesn't feel the need to advertise to the world that they are wearing premium performance apparel. That's the reason Vuori is a staple in my closet.

Sustainability & Ethical Manufacturing

Making decisions as an eco-friendly and sustainable apparel brand is tough, but Vuori is committed to using 80% sustainable materials in just a few short years. They are already close to that goal, using high-quality materials such as REPREVE (polyester derived from plastic bottles) and ECONYL (nylon derived from fishing nets). They also used certified organic cotton.

Plus, Vuori already offsets all of its carbon emissions through a partnership with the Climate Neutral group. They are also working on removing 80% of plastics from their shipping process.

After all, I spent a good amount of my own hard-earned money on Vuori for a few simple reasons. All of Vuori's clothing is designed to wear comfortably in understated California styles and is designed to perform better than any other casual athletic apparel in your closet.

Still, Vuori's pricing falls in line with what you would expect from Lululemon, Rhone, Prana, and similar competitors. In some cases, Vuori might come in a little lower. While reasonable, Vuori is positioned in a premium performance category, so some might find the brand a little pricey.

When I spend money on clothes, I think in terms of value. Will the product I buy perform well, wear comfortably, and last long? Vuori checks all of these boxes, so in our estimation, Vuori is priced at a great value. I would much rather spend a few extra dollars on something I love and that checks all of my quality boxes than spend less money on a product I am dissatisfied with, and that will soon need to be replaced.

Vuori Joggers Review

Vuori sells joggers in a few varieties; honestly, it's hard to go wrong. One of our absolute favorite pieces of clothing is the Vuori Ripstop Traveler Jogger. These pants are incredibly versatile, ready for any adventure, and look good in nearly any setting. The relaxed fit offers wider-fitting pants down the leg, making them more comfortable and easy to move in. Still, the jogger's bottom prevents them from feeling baggy, particularly around your shoes.

The Dura Terra ripstop fabric is made from organic cotton with a Teflon coating. Yeah, you read that right. The Teflon coating makes the pants highly durable and also stain-resistant. These are a go-to pair of pants; you will want in every color.

The Ripstop Traveler Joggers are comfortable pants made from the same material as Vuori's Ripstop Climber Pants, which are more slim-fitting and designed as proper climbing pants. The Ripstop Traveler Jogger is a more comfortable pair of pants for everyday adventures, which is why I am such a big fan. Both the ripstop pants and joggers feature zipper pockets where you can stash a few credit cards.

We also like the more casual and athletic Vuori Transit Jogger, which features zippered pockets for maximum security. I wear my Transit joggers multiple times every week. These joggers feature a more tailored and modern fit than the Traveler Jogger, but the polyester-based material used for the Transit Joggers is abrasion-resistant, offers 4-way stretch, is moisture-wicking, and quick-drying.

Everyone needs a pair of joggers (or two) in their wardrobe, and both the Ripstop Traveler Joggers and Transit Joggers wear comfortably and durably. The former is a little more versatile for any situation, while the latter has a more casual vibe. Either way, you can't go wrong.

The Vuori Kore Shorts might be the most popular piece of apparel in the company's portfolio. If we have one complaint about the Kore Shorts, there might be no zip pockets since the company opted for slash pockets instead.

Still, the Vuori Kore Shorts are ready for any adventure, as they are designed with a sustainably recycled polyester that has anti-odor, moisture-wicking, quick-dry, and 4-way stretch properties.

Customers love the Vuori Kore Shorts because they are comfortable and versatile. How comfortable? Well, the Kore Shorts are available in two lengths: a 7.5-inch inseam and a 5-inch inseam. But beyond that, the Kore Shorts are designed with a comfortable boxer-brief liner that makes the shorts exceptionally easy and comfortable to wear.

And let us just add this: Side pockets are underrated. We aren't fans of the brands removing side pockets to create "minimalist" shorts.

We also like the Vuori Trail Short, which features a slightly shorter inseam. Wear them to the beach or to the pool, around town, or for your favorite athletic endeavors. Pair with the Tradewind Performance Tee (our favorite chest pocket t-shirt), and you're good to go.

The women's apparel has a similar casual apparel vibe fit for a Californian lifestyle. Of course, that doesn't mean you must live in California to love Vuori. If you appreciate laid-back performance in a brand that makes casual wear look nearly sophisticated, Vuori is for you.

Vuori Hoodie

The Vuori Halo Essential Hoodie is one of the brand's most popular pieces of women's apparel for a good reason. The Halo Essential Hoodie features a cropped length and a relaxed fit that's perfect for lounging at home, heading to the gym, or just chilling around town.

You will especially appreciate that the Vuori Halo Essential Hoodie is made from the brand's signature DreamKnit fabric. It's so soft that Vuori calls the Halo Essential Hoodie the world's softest performance hoodie.

We're not going to opine whether or not it's really the "world's softest", but we will say this turn into one of your favorite tops, and after you buy one, there's a good chance you will buy a second and a third hoodie in different colors.

The hoodie is mostly made from Vuori's recycled polyester material that is moisture-wicking, quick-drying, and UPF resistant, but it also features enough elastane to make the DreamKnit one of the most comfortable stretch fabrics you will ever wear.

The hoodie is super soft (like, incredibly soft) and cut to provide the perfect range of motion for any activity. Get your strength workouts in, head to the local coffee shop to hang out with friends, and then home to catch up on Netflix. Wear the Halo Essential Hoodie the entire time because it will work all day long.

Vuori Leggings

A good pair of leggings are worth more than their weight in gold, and Vuori may have designed the perfect pair of leggings. They are super soft, stretchy in all the right places, and effortlessly flattering. We like the Vuori Rib Studio Legging, which features a thick waistband that moves as you move while staying in place. Below the waistband, the rest of the leggings are buttery soft.

Sure, you will wear them for yoga and perhaps on the Peloton, but we are pretty confident these will become your favorite pair of lounge pants too. They allow for a wide range of motion, as you would expect from a premium performance legging, and they also feature a zip and stash pocket to keep your essentials nearby.

For a different look, try the Vuori Daily Legging, which features a high waist and a unique drawstring tie. The Daily leggings are offered in a timeless silhouette and colors. There's no need to buy another pair of trendy pants when these will fit in your wardrobe perfectly for years to come. And, of course, they come with that Southern California chill, but they will work just as well in an NYC studio.

Alternatives to Vuori

If you check out honest reviews around the internet, like Vuori Reddit reviews, you will quickly find I am far from alone in my fandom. For instance, one Redditor called the ripstop climbing pants an "instant favorite". Still, we understand why you might want to check out a few alternatives. Vuori is most often compared to Lululemon, Rhone, and Prana, so let's see how the brands stack up.

Lululemon vs Vuori

As far as quality, Vuori compares well with Lululemon. That said, some of Lululemon's clothing is more expensive, though we can't find any discernible differences to justify the extra price. The one area where Lululemon might have an advantage is its selection.

Lululemon offers so many joggers that it's difficult to tell if any style has a specific performance advantage. In comparing Vuori vs Lululemon, the biggest difference is the more subtle styling options that Vuori offers, but the quality is very similar.

And perhaps the wide style choices are the point, but Vuori's offerings are a little more straightforward. For instance, the Vuori Performance Jogger is great for a workout, while the Transit Jogger might be used for lounging and the Traveler Jogger for wearing around town. Sure, some stylistic differences exist, but even those are most functional depending on how you might wear the various joggers.

Personally, we appreciate this straightforward approach. Both brands have strong sustainability goals, though sustainability is woven a little more deeply into Vuori's fabric as a company. In contrast, Lulelemon has a vast range of focus, including a strong emphasis on social justice, diversity, and inclusion.

What's our favorite clothing from Lululemon? We like the Lululemon Align series for women, perfect for all types of workouts, and the Metal Vent series for men. As one last observation, Lululemon's design choices are usually a little more vibrant, while Vuori's are a little more earthy. We prefer the understated earthy designs Vuori offers, but we also understand that it is merely a matter of preference. If you like brighter colors, then you do you.

And during the winter, pair either of these brands with The North Face or Columbia, and you will be good to go.

Rhone vs Vuori

The most significant difference between Rhone and Vuori is that Rhone is a men-only brand (for now). Sorry ladies. Aside from that, Rhone falls somewhere between Lululemon and Vuori stylistically. If you are looking for casual wear that could pass in most offices, then Rhone is a great place to start. Their polos are incredibly comfortable and have a more professional look because they are polyester-based rather than cotton.

The Rhone color palette isn't as vibrant as Lululemon but not as earthy as Vuori. In our minds, Rhone is an excellent brand to complement Vuori in your wardrobe. Vuori mostly has performance activewear, with a bit of performance casual built-in, while Rhone mixes in a bit more business casual.

We also appreciate the way Rhone's clothing is cut. If you usually wear a size medium, then you can feel confident ordering a size medium. They don't have unnecessarily slim-fit cuts that only your gym instructor can fit into.

What are our favorite Rhone clothing pieces? On one end of the spectrum, the Rhone Commuter Polo is one of the most comfortable polos in our closet. At the other end of the spectrum, we love the Spar Jogger with an elastic waistband, which is moisture-wicking and has a back pocket with a security zipper.

If you haven't noticed, every major brand heavily emphasizes joggers these days, and we are here for it. The jogger silhouette is too practical to hate on.

Like Vuori and the other brands we have highlighted, Rhone carefully reviews the environmental impact of their sourcing decisions. They use organic cotton, recycled polyester, and merino wool; while using FSC-certified post-consumer recycled paper as part of their packaging.

Prana vs Vuori

Of the brands featured here, Prana might have the closest vibe to Vuori, though there is one difference that sticks out to us. While Vuori has a broadly California vibe, Prana has more of a yoga and climbing vibe.

A subtle distinction seems to play out across the clothing lines. While both brands were started in California, Vuori was founded to create performance apparel with a laid-back vibe. At the same time, Prana was established as a yoga and climbing brand, which happens to be in California.

What's that mean exactly? In our experience, it impacts clothing cuts and design choices. General comfort and an understated look parlay into apparel designed for performance at Vuori, while comfort and vibe are secondary to the specific needs of yogis and climbers at Prana. Precise clothing cuts and design features yogis and climbers value aren't as comfortable for everyday wear in our experience.

Nonetheless, Prana (or prAna as it is stylized) is a popular brand with a sterling reputation for considering sustainability and the greater good. If you are looking for trendy pants, go to Lululemon, but if you are looking for something a little more functional, check out the Vuori Performance Jogger or some of Prana's pants.
